Logo for The Great AgVenture
More than 1,200 4th graders from all over San Luis Obispo County enjoyed The Great Agventure at the Paso Robles Event Center on October 10, 2007. Each of the 50 plus classes were guided through an arena event and five 20 minute demonstrations involving various aspects of agriculture. Farm equipment, animals, plants, science and an "AG-tivity" were enjoyed by each class. Over 20 different county schools, both public and private participated in the program. CattleWomen volunteered to host exhibits and act as docents.

"The presentations are designed to be as interactive as possible," said Lorraine Clark, "giving students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, making the event both fun and educational." The Agriculture Education Committee provides the program free of charge to schools throughout the county.
