The San Luis Obispo County CattleWomen's Association is pleased to announce their annual scholarship program for High School Seniors, Cuesta College students, and Cal Poly State University Agriculture students. Our organization is committed to education and assistance to further the pursuits of our young people, both men and women, that plan to seek careers in an agriculture related field.

Please review and complete the application carefully.
Submit the required information by April 15th to:

An interview may also be required of the applicant being considered for scholarship.

Please feel free to make duplicates of this application or e-mail if you have any questions. The scholarship recipient will be notified by May 1st and will also be invited to participate at a scholarship dinner in their honor. Scholarship monies will be deposited into the student's account upon notice of their enrollment.

The SLOCCW Awards $11,000 To Local Students!

The San Luis Obispo Cattle Women are strong believers in education for today and for the future. This strong belief in the power of education is why the SLOCCW are both consistent and generous with their scholarship program. Every year the SLOCCW gives away thousands of dollars in scholarship money and this year was no exception. The San Luis Obispo Cattle Women did it again! This year the women awarded over $11,000 to local high school and college students.

Each student scholarship recipient has plans to use his or her education to better help promote agriculture, in particular the beef industry. These eleven young adults have excelled in both scholastics and extracurricular activities.  Most students are highly active in clubs which already promote beef as well as the agricultural industry.

The high school scholarship recipients included Lauren Beshears and Morgan Dewar. Lauren Beshears was awarded the $1,000 Negranti Scholarship. Lauren is graduating from Morro Bay High School and her field of interest is Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine. Morgan Dewar was awarded the $1,000 Hearst Scholarship. Morgan is graduating from Arroyo Grande High School and will start Cal Poly as an Ag Science major in the Fall.

The Cuesta College recipient was Will Clevenger. Will received both a $500 scholarship in honor of the Cagliero family as well as the $500 Lacey Scholarship.

The Cal Poly recipients included Tricia Harlan, Katie Tierney, Shannon Aguilar, Kody Kester, Nattie Skelton, Kirk Kimmelshue and Cristina Giacomini. Tricia Harlan is an Animal Science major and was awarded the $1,000 Scalise Scholarship. Katie Tierney was also awarded a $1,000 Scalise Scholarship. Katie San Luis Obispo native studying Animal Science with a minor in Rangeland Resource Management. Shannon Aguilar was the $1,000 SLOCCW Scholarship recipient in Rosalie Rhodes name. Shannon is pursuing a Masters Degree in Ag Science with an emphasis on Agricultural Education. Kody Kester was another $ 1,000 SLOCCW Scholarship recipient. Kody is the son of our very own June Kester. He is studying Ag Business with a minor in Viticulture. Nattie Skelton was also awarded a $ 1,000 SLOCCW Scholarship. Nattie is a native of Shandon studying Ag Business, with a concentration Finance and Appraisal. The $1,000 Hearst Scholarship was awarded to Kirk Kimmelshue. Krik is an Ag Business Major. The other $1,000 Hearst Scholarship was awarded to Noah Nelson. Noah is an Ag Systems Management major, and is perusing an Ag Business Minor.
