The Cattlemen's Day events were well organized by Jerry White, Jan Davis, Pete Clark, JoAnn Switzer and Elena Clark. Everyone has their areas of responsibility and it runs like a top. |
CattleWomen sponsored belt buckles to the winners of the CattleWomen's Team Penning. The winners were Patti Davis, Alison Grantham, and Elena Clark. We also sponsored and ran the children's events. Special thanks to Colleen Hayes, Mary Kuhnle, and Kelly Work for thier hard work in keeping these events running efficiently. |
The winner of the All Around Saddle was Ronnie Garcia and the Jr. All Around buckle went once again to Bryan Bobsin. |

Pioneer Day roping was outstanding with Colleen Enk announcing 681 teams, James Grantham flagging, and San Luis Obispo CattleWomen, Fra Tognazinni, Colleen Hayes, Linda Sauret, Cheryl Gay Rambo, Ann Cochrane, Carla Young, Chris Jennings, Nola Twissleman, Eleanor Trucchio, Kelly Work, Lisa Jennings, Shelly Cargill, Dakota Rodriguez, Calvin Jennings, Sam Cleavenger, Sean Rupe, Brandon Weibe, Cody and his friend, doing ther jobs fantastically. We had so many teams, not complaining mind you, but along about 7:00pm, (we finished at 10:00) I was afraid the crew was going to wear out and quit, BUT they all finished their jobs like the pros that they are. Thanks everyone! |
As you know the San Luis Obispo County CattleWomen produce this roping and the proceeds go for scholarships. So I would truly like to thank all of the sponsors, ropers, community, and CattleWomen for donating their time and the roping crew that it takes to make this event happen. |
Bo Ramsey from Shandon won the saddle, beating Josh Wineman by $200. A very special thank you to Phyllis Madonna for sponsoring the saddle. CattleWomen appreciate everything Phyllis does for our organization and the community. |
Winners of the #9 Don Loftus/Dawson Brooks Memorial were Pete Clark and Jack Cargill. Sponsors of the buckles were the Kathy Loftus Family, Nancy, Ely, Larry and Joan Brooks Family, and Twisselman Grain & Cattle. |
The all girl team of Pam Kennedy and Tammy White walked away with the beautiful Gist buckles, sponsored by Colleen and Gordon Hayes and Carla Young. |
The Lil' Cowpoke buckle sponsored by Bob Grant, was won by Cole Cargill, assisted by his father Jack Cargill. We are so excited for Cole. His mom Shelly sings an awesome National Anthem and has a great brand to boot. |
The #12 Handicap Brown Bermudez Memorial roping, was won by Cody Mora and Caleb Twisselman. This team roped all their steers under 7 seconds, so even with a 10 second handicap added, they came out on top!! Susan and Jerry Diefenderfer and the Bermudez family jointly sponsor these buckles. |
Bo Ramsey and Chad Wittstrom won #13 Alex Madonna/Jim Laing roping. They received beautiful silver bits sponsored by Flying T Cattle and Mitch Laing. |
#15 Gene Rambo and Matt Silveira Memorial roping was won by Travis Xavier and Mark Scobie. They won silver bits with the Rambo and Silveira family brands on the conchos. Sponsors, and great secretarial help, Cheryl Gay Rambo with granddaughter Dakota Rodriguez, Tony, Mike, and Linda Silveira, Matt's son Justin Silveira, and Lorie Silveira contribute these awards. |
Please remember the following sponsors when you do business, they, too, help us pay all the expenses that go along with this sport: |
3 Brand Cattle Co, Filipponi & Thompson Drilling, Farm Credit West, Nola and Darrell Twisselman, Rober and Jill Heely, Karl and Cindy Wittstrom, Mid-State Bank, Scott and Melody Hutchins, Abby Allen, and Templeton Deli. |
A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all of the CattleWomen that helped out!! As with all organizations it seems to be the same pepole who are involved. I sincerely wish to thank these women who help me year after year. I can always count on you, so please know that I really appreciate all that you do. |
