Many thanks to the CattleWomen volunteers, buckle sponsors, saddle sponsor and the community for making the Pioneer Day Roping a great success. We ran over 600 teams, making a profit around $8,000 to give away in scholarships. Its a very long day, but as I have said in the past....much more profitable than a bake sale!
With much gratitude I continue to thank our sponsors, Phyllis Madonna, for the beautiful all around saddle and buckle sponsors, whom I won't name hearing that some wish anonymity, but all the same you guys are terrific.
I would also like to thank the CattleWomen for their hard work.. Colleen Enk, Fran Tognazini, Cheryl Gay Rambo, Roxanne Sanders, Dakota Rodriguez, Jill Heely, Connie Duncan, Ann Cochrane, Noal Twisselman, Tricia Goldstein, Deanne Gonsalves, Sherry Swank, Vicki Bengard, Julie Diffenbaugh, Shirley Ramirez, and of course Jorge Martinez and crew, who have the hardest job of all.
By the way, Phyllis' grandson, Caleb Twisselman, won the saddle!

The San Luis Obispo County Cattlewomen produce this roping and the proceeds go for scholarships. So I would truly like to thank all of the sponsors, ropers, community, cattlewomen for donating their time and the roping crew that it takes to make this event happen. ~Elena
