The Pioneer Day roping event on October 5, 2008 was outstanding! Colleen Enk announced 729 teams, with Alan Gomes flagging, and San Luis Obispo Cattlewomen, Fran Tognazzini, Cheryl Gay Rambo, Judi and Hugh Forester, Jana Kaba, Carla Young, Chris Jennings, Nola Twisselman, Anna Negranti, Kelly Work, Staci Truelson, Dakota Rodriguez, Joanie Ketcham, Roxanne Sanders, Vickie Bengard, Jill Heely, Kim Horwedel, Susan from Trailor Barn, and Jorge Martinez and his hard working family doing their jobs fantastically. We had 48 more teams than last year, making it a very long day. I was afraid the crew was going to wear out and quit, BUT they all finished their jobs like the pros they are ….thanks everyone.
The San Luis Obispo County Cattlewomen produce this roping and the proceeds go for scholarships. So I would truly like to thank all of the sponsors, ropers, community, cattlewomen for donating their time and the roping crew that it takes to make this event happen. ~Elena |
